Training for Deaf and ASL-English Interpreters to Work with Women Victims of Violence

This exciting collaboration between Barbra Schlifer Commemorative Clinic and Springtide Resources will develop and deliver intensive training to ASL-English Interpreters and Deaf Interpreters.

The project will ensure greater access to linguistically and culturally specific VAW services for Deaf women experiencing or fleeing violence. With a focus on providing training to Deaf Interpreters as well as ASL-English Interpreters, the initiative will deliver responsive and sensitive woman abuse services to Deaf women.

This is the first training of its kind in Ontario.
